Mentoring is often viewed as a nice to do but not necessary to the way we develop and manage our people. Research shows a growing percentage of the workforce is looking for a coach more than a supervisor, and is more interested in development than the perks that use to entice people to our workplaces.

Now more than ever, mentorship is becoming a vital way to attract, develop and retain talent. Learn the role of mentoring in the workplace, what makes for quality relationships and the implications of doing it poorly. Uncover the art and science of blending supervision and mentorship to get the results you want. Discover the different models of mentoring and figure out what could work best for you and your company.

About the presenter

Jennifer M. N. Schillinger is the founder of Strengths Advantage, a local company dedicated to equipping teams and individuals to identify, develop and apply their strengths. She is passionate about mentorship and experience based learning, encouraging others to find their best self and develop as leaders. She is an avid reader and loves connecting with people at every stage of life. Jennifer has her Bachelor of Science in university students, major in education with minors in psychology and communication studies, and a Master of Science in counseling with an emphasis in student affairs from Minnesota State University Moorhead. She is a Gallup Certified Strengths Coach and Meyers Briggs certified facilitator.

This training qualifies for 2 CPE credits for the ND CPA Society.
