About 32.2 percent of the 304 degrees and certificates handed out by the Lake Region State College in 2016-17 were to students in Homeland Security, Law Enforcement, Firefighting and Related Protective Services programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.
The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Lake conferred 88 certificates and 10 associate's degrees in Homeland Security, Law Enforcement, Firefighting and Related Protective Services programs.
But the single most popular program was for a certificate in Criminal Justice/Police Science. Data shows the school gave out 88 certificates in Criminal Justice/Police Science, followed by 78 associate's degrees in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies and 28 certificates in Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse Training.
The college enrolled 1,947 students for 2016-17, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
