MINOT AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: City of Minot to offer Ride Transit Free week August 13-17
Minot Area Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.
The City of Minot will once again offer a Ride Transit Free week from August 13 - 17. During those days, there will be no charge to use the City of Minot Transit buses.
"This will be the third year that we have had our Ride Transit Free week," said Brian Horinka, Superintendent of Transit for the City of Minot. "It provides an opportunity for our regular riders to use the system free for a week to show our appreciation for them, but it also helps showcase the system for those who may be less familiar with what the City of Minot transit system has to offer."
During the Ride Transit Free week, the City buses will run their regular routs.
In addition to the Ride Transit Free week, Minot City Transit will be installing a ticket vending machine in the lobby of the Minot Municipal Auditorium later this month. This vending machine will allow for the purchase of any type of fare media offered by Minot City Transit. Currently, the vending machine will only accept cash for fare purchases.
"We are continually looking for ways to increase the convenience of using Public Transit in the Minot area," said Hornika.
The ticket vending machine is scheduled to be installed August 27 and should be operational by Sept 1.
